Context is Everything

The reception of a work of art is determined by the expectation of the viewer prior to encountering the art. Commonly, art objects and experiences occur in pre-determined sites of cultural exhibition, or art galleries and museums. The expectation of encountering artworks in such sites greatly influences the way they are viewed or interacted with, how long they are considered, etc.
