I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING
I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING

Installed at m2 Gallery, London
Neon light, black card and etched mirror
Approx. 100 x 100cm
November - December 2004
1/4

For this piece I constructed a simple lightbox behind a mirror with etched words comprising the title of the installation. During the day, passers-by would merely see their own reflection interrupted by the black letters of the sentence.

Once dusk began to fall however, a viewer would see less of a reflection and more of the tiny points of light shining through the blackness of the letters. The intended effect was to make the small gap between the mirror and lights suggest the infinite void of space.
